Personal Journey

Dr. Jaban's path to medicine began as he witnessed his mother's health deteriorate despite conventional medical interventions. She struggled with weight gain, high blood pressure, chronic fatigue, depression, and ulcers—receiving multiple medications but finding little relief. Her undiagnosed diabetes was only discovered after a car accident, by which point her health had declined significantly, eventually leading to thyroid cancer and multiple surgeries.

This experience profoundly shaped his medical philosophy, but it was his own health crisis at age 25 that solidified his commitment to root cause medicine. Facing unexplained fatigue, chronic joint pain, and hormone imbalances—with no answers despite numerous tests—Dr. Jaban finally discovered he was suffering from Lyme disease after a chance encounter at a functional medicine conference.

Michelle Perro, MD, DHom, is a veteran clinician with over four decades of experience in both pediatrics as well as in integrative medicine treating both children and their families.

She has been director of a Pediatric Emergency Department in NYC and spent over a decade at UCSF Benioff Oakland Children’s Hospital. Dr. Perro has been a tireless advocate regarding the role of GM food and their associated pesticides centered on their effect on children’s health.

Jerry Simons, PA is a practitioner with 25 years of experience in managing chronic disease, especially persistent infections and autoimmunity. Working in an area endemic with ticks, he has treated vector borne diseases of all types in all stages.

An award-winning international medical educator for more than 25 years. He has developed Tick Borne Disease educational programs used by physicians and health providers. He is considered an innovator in the field of complex infections, having begun his practice in the field of tick borne disease in 1995 in the office of Dr. Joseph Burrascano. There he advanced the concept of tick borne disease co-infections, innovated pulsed antibiotic dosing, brain SPECT scanning, and an herbal approach to microbial infections. He is currently employed at the Morrison Center in New York City, with a focus on heavy metals' role in infection, biofilms, and persistent infections.

He is a past recipient of the national award from the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance (now Global Lyme Alliance), and was the Lyme Times Magazine Ask The Expert series editor and author for more than a decade. Melissa Olson, Board Certified Traditional Naturopath, brings a wealth of experience and expertise in natural health and holistic medicine. As a Registered Yoga Teacher, Melissa has significantly enhanced the wellness journeys of her students. Driven by a passion for holistic health, she pursued and obtained a Doctor of Naturopathy degree, enabling her to address a wide range of health issues, including allergies, hormonal balance, weight management, and digestive health.
